Hello, I'm Bonnie Tsang. I'm a writer, AI artist, and creative explorer based in Los Angeles, CA. My work is driven by a deep curiosity about authentic expression, human connection, and the fascinating interplay between our inner landscapes and the world around us, including the role technology now plays.
For nearly two decades, I built a wonderful and rewarding career as a photographer. It was a journey filled with incredible opportunities: collaborating with global clients I truly admired (like Gap and Estée Lauder), seeing my work published in respected magazines (Time, The Atlantic, Bon Appétit), connecting with a large and supportive online community (which grew to over 7 million followers at one point), speaking at inspiring events like SXSW, and even receiving a deeply memorable White House invitation during the Obama administration. My focus was always on capturing people 'in their element,' seeking those candid moments and authentic connections through my lens. My perspective throughout has also been shaped by navigating different worlds, having moved from Hong Kong to the US when I was 12.
About five years ago, I felt called to step back from my public-facing work to focus on my family. Unexpectedly, this period became a time of profound personal transformation for me, a quiet, inward space that allowed for deep healing related to my upbringing and led to a significant spiritual awakening. This inner journey fundamentally reshaped my perspective on life, creativity, and connection.
Today, I channel these experiences and my ongoing explorations primarily through writing and AI-assisted art. On my Substack journal, "True and Authentic," I share reflections attempting to make sense of consciousness, spirituality, healing, and navigating life's constant transitions. In my visual work, I blend my own original photography, drawings, and paintings with AI tools. It's a collaborative process where I guide the technology to create images delving into similar themes: exploring our inner worlds, identity, perception, and the subtle energies we experience.
Ultimately, my work, both the words and the visuals, is an invitation to shared exploration and genuine connection. It’s deeply grounded in my lived experience and embraces vulnerability, curiosity, and the beauty I find in both the light and the shadows. Thank you so much for being here; I truly hope you find something in these explorations that resonates with you.
